Xavier Catholic College was struggling with an old printer network and was ready for a new solution.

The Challenge for XAVIER CATHOLIC College

A Prep-to-12 school in Hervey Bay, Xavier Catholic College had a fleet of printers nearing the end of their PIaaS (Print Imaging as a Service) agreement. This meant that the printers were five years old and at the recommended upgrade point.

Due to age, these machines were requiring more maintenance – with users experiencing:

• increased paper jams,
• slower responses, and
• increased toner usage.

Needing this upgrade in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic meant that securing stock posed a significant challenge.

Queensland Computers Solution

Steve (our Lead Print Technician with over 30 years of experience) and Mark (our Lead Project Coordinator) took on this project. They started by visiting the school, working with the Xavier Catholic College staff to examine the existing print assets and undertake a detailed review of their print environment – including forecasting for future print requirements.

Key Outcomes

Despite stock availability issues across the country (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), Queensland Computers worked with the Ricoh team to source equipment for Xavier Catholic College – minimising the impact of product shortages on their organisation.
